MEET
JAKE LA JEUNESSE
Rooted in Michigan.
Fighting for Its Future.
My family has called the Upper Peninsula home for generations—miners, teachers, veterans, and builders whose stories shaped my own. I grew up traveling rink to rink with my dad’s hockey team, performing in the local arts scene, and calling every corner of the U.P. home.
Like many, I left when opportunity dried up. I taught English abroad, earned my master’s, and built a life with my wife. We now live in New Zealand, but my heart has never left Michigan. I know firsthand how economic hardship drives people away from the communities they love.
That’s why I’m running for Senate: to build a Michigan where ordinary people can live, work, and come home again. I’m not a career politician—I’m a working person juggling a job and a campaign. I understand the struggles families face because I’ve lived them. And I’ll fight to make sure the government finally puts people first.
